In the restored village of METAMORA, Just off US 52 about 8 miles west of BROOKVILLE.

   

Comments:

  The mill, which is in operation, and has been restored as part of an Indiana State Historic Site.  There is a large breast waterwheel, set into a canal lock.  The mill was rebuilt following a fire in 1899.  A run of 42 inch stones is used.  Corn meal is ground and may be purchased.  An aqueduct covered bridge carries the Whitewater Canal over Duck Creek.  Canal boat rides are available.  The Mill is part of a Village with many shops available for your pleasure.
Operation Schedule:
  Grist Mill
     Open April 1 through November 20
          Wednesday - Saturday  9:00 to 5:00 pm
          Closed Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays
          Easter, Thanksgiving, Veterans Day, Primary Election Day, Election Day and Columbus Day.

     During 1st three weeks in December the mill is open.
          Friday and Saturday noon till 10 pm
          Sunday 9 to 5 pm 

Canal Boat
     Open May 1 - October 31, 2004
     Wednesday - Saturday, dependent on canal conditions.
     Rides Begin at 12, 1, 2, 3, and 4 pm
