Location:

  At WYE MILLS on MD 662, 12 miles east of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Route 662 is also known as Wye Mills Rd.
   

Comments:

  Originally built in 1671 and reconstructed in 1720 and 1840.  Operates as an operational museum by the Society for the Preservation of Maryland Antiquities.  A restored 18th century gristmill.  The mill has been completely restored July 1991.   Corn-meal and whole wheat and buckwheat flour is ground and sold at the mill and at various locations throughout the area.  Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.  An extensive butterfly garden was put in and is now operated by a state Master Gardeners chapter.
Operation Schedule:
  Open April through November.
      Thursday through Sunday  10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
