In EAST MEREDITH, which is 3 miles south of SR 23, just a short distance from Oneonta, NY.  From I-88 take Exit 15 from the west, or Exit 16 from the east and follow SR 23 east, in Davenport Center turn right onto CR 10 to East Meredith.  In East Meredith turn left on CR 12 to reach the parking lot.  The Museum is located at the corner of CR 10 & CR 12.

   

Comments:

  Three separate mills under one roof - gristmill, sawmill and woodworking shop.  It is powered by a 10 ft. Diameter overshot wheel inside the building.  Most of the original equipment is intact.   Restored and used as a unique museum.  The site includes exhibits and 15 other historic structures including barns, lumber shed, feed mill, and a 1920s farmhouse.  Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, 1973.  Various events are held throughout the summer, including an annual Independence Day celebration, centered around the mill.  Hanford Mill Museum received a grant from SPOOM in 2003. 
Operation Schedule:
  Open daily 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. May 1 through October 31.
