Built in the late 18th century
(c. 1747) and ceased
operating c.1960. There are 3 run of buhrstones powered by a Fitz
overshot waterwheel. Flour, feed and grist were ground. This is a
typical Oliver Evans mill. Most machinery remains. It was known as
Lightfoot Mill in 1747, Benson-Reading Mill in 1812, Shannaman Mill in
1820, Oberholtzer's Mill in 1886 and Collins Mill from 1919 on. Stephen
Kindig is quoted as saying he has never found an example to equal this
mill. |

| |
